New Delhi could soon have a Sachin Tendulkar street

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar could soon have a street in New Delhi’s Chandni Chowk named after him after the proposal for the same was accepted by Rajni Abbi, the Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
According to a report in News24, the Mayor had said Tendulkar is a jewel of the country and hence the street should be named after him.

The chairman of MCD, Jai Kishan Sharma also echoed Mayor’s thought by stating that Tendulkar is pride of India and the proposal of Municipal Corporation should be appreciated.

Nevertheless, there have been few suggestions within the MCD that the street should be instead named after Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand or Metro man E. Sreedaran.
